Depending on the requirements of the floor, here are a few Flowcrete epoxy coatings to choose from for refurbishing an industrial facility:
Flowcoat SF41 is a firm favourite product choice in an industrial environment. Its’ high abrasion and chemical resistance properties makes it ideally suited to environments that require a hardwearing floor. At 0.3 – 0.5mm thick the floor coating is sufficient for any medium duty industrial environment. Flowcoat SF41 can also be tailored with an anti-slip profile with the inclusion of aggregate.
Flowshield SL 1000 is a 1mm self-levelling epoxy coating with impressive abrasion resistance. It is perfect for dry processing areas that are subjected to medium to heavy duty traffic. Its seamless finish gives it a hygienic quality.
Another popular epoxy coating option is the resilient and reliable Flowshield SL. This 2mm system offers a seamless and hygienic finish. Flowshield SL’s high chemical and abrasion resistance makes it an obvious choice for demanding industrial environments and can withstand heavy forklift traffic.
However if you are looking for more hard-wearing systems that can withstand very demanding working conditions then either Peran PTS or Flowtex HT are the solutions for you.
Peran PTS is a highly durable epoxy screed which is installed at 4.5 to 5mm thickness. Not only does this system stand up to heavy machinery and abusive conditions but it is also aesthetically pleasing with its range of bright colours. Peran PTS is a hardwearing flooring system that is ideal for both wet and dry processing areas due to its textured finish.
Flowtex HT is a hand trowelled epoxy mortar typically laid at 6mm’s. It has excellent mechanical properties which allow it to function optimally in very heavy duty environments that are subjected to intense traffic. Over and above its use as a flooring system, Flowtex HT can also be used as a repair mortar and to adhere machinery to their bases.
Demarcation is an important part of an industrial facility refurbishment. Flowcrete offers Flowcoat SF41 or Flowcoat UV as a solution for demarcating all areas. It is important to suggest demarcation lines in a warehouse or factory to keep workers in a safe environment. There are no hard and fast rules in terms of colour coding for demarcation however typically green is used for walkways, white and red chevron’s are used to indicate areas that should be kept clear i.e. firefighting equipment , entrances and exits. Red is used in hazardous areas where safety precautions should be taken, blue for general working areas and yellow and black chevrons are used in front of electrical equipment.
