With the venue hosting a vast array of events including concerts, banquets and even UNISA exams, the flooring needed to be able to withstand extremely high footfall as well as moving chairs, tables and stage equipment on a regular basis. To find the ideal solution, the expertise of Flowcrete South Africa was called upon.
For the venue hall, 3,600 m2 of the resilient and attractive FlowSport was chosen in Mid Grey, thanks to its abrasion and impact resistance. The hardwearing nature of FlowSport meant that the flooring would look its best for longer, even when facing the daily challenges of a large and popular venue.
As well as being durable, the physical appearance of the floor was sure to stand the test of time thanks to its seamless nature. This meant that the flooring could easily be cleaned, with dirt having no joints to hide in. This was very important to the client, as often there is a quick turnaround between events, meaning that the venue needs to be quickly and efficiently cleaned and dressed.
Interestingly, the cushioned and flexible coating provided by Flowcrete South Africa also helped with acoustics, meaning that the various music festivals and concerts hosted within the space would also benefit from the flooring.
The project took two months to complete, and the venue was ready to host events galore once more.
