Don’t be Led Astray, be a LEED Leader Instead

Sustainability is a hot topic in the construction industry right now, architects want to create environmentally friendly buildings, material suppliers want to demonstrate how their products are green and progressive, and end users want to know that their facility is at the cutting edge of sustainable technology.

To this end, suppliers, builders, architects and owners will all frequently tout the green credentials of their products/services/facilities as loudly as possible. The big name that many will use to support these claims is LEED®, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, a rating system set up by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) to assess the environmental credentials of a building, and validate sustainable building strategies and practices used in the design, construction and operation of said building.

Flowfresh Renews HACCP International Certification Over a Decade After First Application

The ultra-hygienic polyurethane flooring range Flowfresh has successfully achieved HACCP International certification for the second time, with Flowfresh Cove included in the accredited collection for the first time.

This certification comes just over a decade since the global resin flooring manufacturer Flowcrete Group Ltd. first combined the silver-ion based antibacterial agent Polygiene® with a robust polyurethane coating, creating what is now the go-to choice of flooring for the food and beverage industry.

Donated Floor Brings Colour and Cleanliness to Child Centre

Flowcrete South Africa has donated a bright, attractive and easy to clean floor to a day care centre that provides care and education to disadvantaged young children.

The Project Feed the Children Early Childhood Development Day Care Centre was set up in 2012 by founder Shaun Botha in an impoverished rural township on the outskirts of Benoni, Gauteng. Initially the centre’s aim was to serve as a babysitting service but it is now working with The 100% Foundation to become a community education and skills development hub.

Bespoke Mezzanine Floor for Weylandts Furniture Store

The luxury furniture store Weylandts tasked Flowcrete South Africa with creating a floor for its new mezzanine extension that matched the existing finish across the store’s ground floor area.

Floor in Spar’s Secunda Store is Second to None

When Spar built a new store in the town of Secunda, it wanted the floor to not only provide a clean and durable surface but also to wow customers with bright colours and decorative patterns.

To create this bespoke finish, Spar worked with Flowcrete South Africa to design and install high performance floors across the main shopping area, kitchen and butchers of the SuperSpar site as well as throughout the adjoining Tops Spar liquor store.
