Flowcrete South Africa will be showcasing its high-performance resin flooring solutions for both the commercial and industrial sectors at Johannesburg’s Facilities Management Expo.
Taking place at the Gallagher Estate in Johannesburg from the 16th-17th May, this show provides a space for the city’s facilities management professionals to network, share information and discover the industry’s latest technologies and trends.
The resin flooring specialist Flowcrete South Africa will be on stand C27 during the two-day event to demonstrate how its wide range of resin flooring systems provides facilities managers with finishes ideally tailored to take on the demands of any large-scale commercial or industrial facility.
With a comprehensive collection of decorative epoxy, hard wearing polyurethane and fast curing methyl methacrylate (MMA) systems to draw upon, Flowcrete South Africa is able to provide a floor for any environment, whether it’s an intensive and specialised manufacturing site or a high-end, luxurious hotel.
Attendees will also be introduced to two brand-new floor finishes that promise to really light up the show! Flowfast Glow and Flowcoat Glow incorporate self-luminous flakes that mean they will glow brightly in the dark, a property which provides a vital health and safety advantage in industrial facilities.
During a power cut these flakes will light up the floor, which is a great way to help people in the building see where they are going and enable them to get to an exit during emergencies. This is particularly beneficial in areas such as the stairwell, which can pose a serious hazard when being used in the dark, however with a glowing Flowcrete floor pedestrians will easily be able to make out the different steps.
The self-luminous flakes work by storing energy when exposed to light and then releasing it in the dark as a vivid, neon green tinged illumination across the floor. The robust formulation of these systems protects the floor from abrasions, impacts and corrosives - safeguarding the surface and its glow against everything from heavy pallets and forklift truck traffic to industrial chemicals and frequent deep cleaning.
These will be on display alongside Flowcrete South Africa’s wide variety of resin solutions that have already become a popular choice of flooring for many market sectors across Africa. This includes colourful and stylistic epoxy systems for shopping centres, offices, stadiums, schools and spas, with particular highlights being the bold colour of Peran SL and the unlimited design potential of the Mondéco seamless resin terrazzo range.
The industrial world needs flooring that’s up to the increasingly complex and niche demands of modern R&D, production, storage and transportation. For example, in the pharmaceutical and electronics sectors it is important to have floors that facilitate a contaminant-free environment, manufacturing centres require finishes that can withstand heavy impacts and corrosive chemicals while food and beverage facilities need to ensure that the floor area remains as hygienic as possible at all times. Flowcrete South Africa is able to meet all of these demands and more.
Any Facility Manager that needs to refurbish the floor area but that can’t afford a long period of downtime to accommodate it can take advantage of the MMA enhanced Flowfast range, which is able to fully cure within only a couple of hours! This drastically reduces the time it would take to install a new floor or refurbish an existing one, which means the site can get back up and running earlier than would be possible with alternative materials.
